Moved to Colorado in 1986. Went to college in Southern Colorado and settled in Colorado Springs. I married Charla in 2002 and we still live in Colorado Springs. I was in education for 14 years and now we have a family contracting business. I spent 14+ years as a high school track and cross country coach and stepped away for a few years to spend more time with my boys. I still like to run and I coach other runners and have since high school.
Other hobbies include: rock climbing, reading-history books, military history, John Eldredge books("Wild at Heart", "The Way of the Wild Heart"), Bible. Ransomed Heart Ministries and Band of Brothers have had a huge impact on my life. My wife also really has a passion for ballroom dancing and has recruited me into it. I am not exactly ready for "Dancing With the Stars" but she is an unbelievable dancer and she loves it. That is all that matters to me!

Pretty much any day in Mrs. Cook's class was historically funny and was epic in some way. I think that Mark Avant, Chad Hooten, Barry Benning, Mark Damron and Darren McCool and I were known as "The Dumper Crew". I took a test and bombed it. She was strolling about the room and handing back tests with huge marks strewn in red on the test papers. She got to me and said "Chuck, you can join the rest of your buddies...in the Dumper Crew. I must say that this did have in impact on my academic performance. Humiliation goes a long, long way with me. In graduate school I would have made Mrs. Cook proud. But in her class I am afraid to admit that I was a total slacker. But her commitment to excellence stuck with me over all of these years and those 14 years I spent grading papers, projects and essays, I can't tell you the times when I wished that I could tell some kid that he just joined "The Dumper Crew"! |
